Part I

I began reading a fabulous book about Cancer struggle and survival. I personally have not had cancer, but know those that have. Work with those that have or had, and realize that anyone can have cancer. I think we all carry cancer in small amounts, just not in detectable levels for blood tests to notice. It's when we start to have symptoms that things have gone too far.

The book is called "Knockout" by Suzanne Somers: It is heartfelt, and dedicated to many people that she knew, that did not survive cancer. She interviews tons of famous doctors of internal medicine, neurology, oncology, and surgeons. The interviews are very informative as if the doctors are writing their own essays. Surprising information, research, and enlightenment. Shocking revelations, as well as experiences that Suzanne shares from her own crisis "on recurrence" it sheds light on the current systems in place in our healthcare, and judicial system. It is all encompassing, and thoroughly researched. I am just finishing it up, but wanted to take a minute to share what I have noted, to be one absolutely fabulous book on the matter of cancer, cancer treatments, new methods of treating cancer, and stories of cancer survivors.

Cancer is not the death sentence it once was labeled being. I have tons of friends that are survivors, and continue their everyday lives as if nothing so devastating had ever occurred. They work double shifts, and full-time, and keep in line with life's daily tasks. It amazes me to see the complete recovery from the disease of cancer. Not only does it amaze me, but it thrills me to be witness to so many people that have lived to tell. I continue to applaud their stoicism.

Cancer interfering with or ending people's lives compelled me to learn more about how our body's cells turn on us. As a nurse, writer, and researcher, it fits. I know about the different theories that have been speculated and some proven to have caused cancer, such as the lifestyle factors, genetics, and environment. I wish we could trace everyone’s history to do a playback to see how the dots connect. I know researchers try earnestly to find the answer to cancer. I know they say smoking causes cancer, just not in everyone. Then what about those that get lung cancer that didn't smoke a day in their life? How then, do people get cancer of the lung if they do not smoke? We could say it's from the pollution, genetics, chronic bronchitis, frequent upper respiratory(anything that causes inflammation in the lungs). The chronic inflammation of the tissue does have the effect of changing the tissue structure, and in essence causing the mutations to occur from the constant injury to the lung tissue.

Without going into the heavy science of DNA and RNA, suffice it to say that this double helix of coded information are in constant motion recombining their genetic expressions, and when we are sick or bombarded by toxins in our food, water, and environment, the immune system has to jump into fight mode from these assaults, leaving the double helix to recombine on its own, defenseless from a mistake in coding. While the immune system is off fighting a common cold, chickenpox, measles, or a number of other diseases. It's when these recombination's make an error, and buddy up with the wrong partner that a mutation occurs, and usually the immune system will take care of it, but if it's overwhelmed, it won't catch some of the miscodes. Every cell, every structure, organ have within themselves all the cellular material, the nucleus is embedded into every tiny cellular structure, and has this replication process going on, that is why we can evolve cancers in a number of places within the bodies organs. Especially, in tissues that change constantly. That is why people with AIDS have so many different types of cancers, because their immune systems are no longer functioning properly, or at all. I plan to go into more details in part II of my series on "The Answer to Cancer."

"Got Hair?" Keep the Hair You Have & Then Some!

It is always practical in situations of hair loss, to see a reputable dermatologist to get a good assessment of your scalp, and the condition that it is in. There is for some, a simple solution to what can be causing the loss of hair that you might not have been aware of. "Overgrowth of yeast," I know it doesn't sound very pleasant, but truly nice to know that if that is what the cause of the hair thinning or loss is due to, then you are in far better shape than someone else that may require a bit more work with "lotions and potions."

If you don't wish to see a dermatologist and just want to get on with it already! Here are some of the non-medical solutions you could try and the reasons behind them:

NIZORAL SHAMPOO: KETOCONAZOLE (kee toe KON na zole) is an antifungal medicine. It is used to treat fungal/yeast type infections. Non-prescription shampoo, over-the-counter product. Pub Med has proven studies of it's efficacy in use: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15863844
HEAD & SHOULDERS Shampoo, another over-the-counter non-prescription shampoo that fights dandruff (a sign of fungus/yeast presence).
Scalpicin~ This treatment is a 1% hydrocortisone cream that you could use as directed on the package if you have an inflammatory condition from the yeast overgrowth, in addition to the shampoo treatment noted above. ( I wouldn't use it for more than the recommended time noted on the bottle.) Due to the fact it is an cortisone medication per se, and long term use is not good in case it should build up into your system.
SHAMPOOS with SALICYLIC ACID 2% or 3 % are very good in my opinion, as the SA is lipophillic, just like the yeast...meaning that they love fat from the oils that are secreted from the glands in the scalp. SA penetrates this barrier, and acts as an antimicrobial and antifungal, ridding the scalp and pores of the infectious agent with repeated use. You just have to watch that you don't have a sensitivity to *ASPIRIN PRODUCTS* As Salicylic Acid is a derivative of the Willow Bark, and can cause a reaction in those with aspirin allergies.

As with any treatment plan, it is always advisable to check with your physician. I am not replacing the advice of any medical professional. I am only offerring some solutions to those that may not be aware of them.

One more thing: Prescription Medications that Doctors sometimes order for their male patients, "Proscar a.k.a. "Propecia" "Dutasteride" these medications have a lot of side-effects! There is a natural Herb that produces the same results called "Saw Palmetto." Over-the-Counter.

Also, make sure you get a baseline Vitamin D level drawn! As being at a therapeutic level in your Vitamin D will strengthen all your cells and enable your other vitamins, minerals, and trace minerals to their work efficiently.

Cancer doesn't have to be, if you are therapeutic in Vitamin D!

When a person has cancer for instance, if they were to have their Vitamin D level checked...they would probably be shown to be deficent or not at therapeutic range. Therapeutic range is from 50ng/ml of blood to 100ng/ml of blood. Those that have Cancer currently, can certainly benefit from their Doctors/Oncologists working toward that end of therapeutic range, as this will cause the cancer cells to destruct (apoptosis) cellular death...not of the good cells, but of the cancer cells. If you have no cancer that you are aware of, then finding out what your Vitamin D level is, and getting it to therapeutic levels will prevent the occurrence of cancer formation by virtue of strengthening the cells binding sites. When a person is non-therapeutic, their cells are able to split apart easily and become different cell types, such as cancer. If you are good in therapeutic levels of Vitamin D, then your cells are like "Super Glue" and can't break apart. There are many amazing and incredible benefits that stem from therapeutic levels in D. D allows or enables the rest of the minerals and vitamins to do their work. Also, science has revealed that Vitamin D, once therapeutic also acts as an antimicrobial. Hence, summertime there is less viral infections but the flu season arrives like clockwork, once the days get shorter, less sunlight, and less activity outdoors. The synthesized Vitamin D of the summertime runs low by mid winter, and then that is when illness pours in. That doesn't have to be, as long as you are therapeutic in Vitamin D.

Most people are not aware that Vitamin D competes for the same receptor site as Vitamin A. Most multivitamins have far more A in them than D, so it makes D a mute point. Not fair! To counter this imbalance, I always take a larger dose of Vitamin D, at a different time of day. Also, people don't require the huge lump of A that they put in Multivitamins, as A is more readily found in lots of food and drinks than you can ever find with Vitamin D.

There are other reasons that cancer can form, such as people with HIV where their immune system is in failure mode.

The news on Vitamin D has been dated back since 1937. The RDA just changed their RDA value for Vitamin D in fact! For ever and a day the RDA stated 400 I U of Vitamin D was sufficient. Not by a long shot! Now, RDA within this past year changed it to 2000 I U per day. Which, still doesn't account for people that take a multivitamin. Multivitamins have far more Vitamin A than D...so, let's say Vitamin A is 2500 I U or typical is 4000 I U...and your Vitamin D supplement gives you 2000 I U...well Vitamin A wins! They both compete for the same receptor site!!! 15 minutes ago

Sunshine, isn't what it used to be. With the depletion of the Ozone layer, the damaging UV rays, cannot give the efficient dose of Vitamin D that it once did, because people have abused the sun so much, that their skin damage alone prevents the effective synthesis by that exposure. Plus, the fatter a person is, the more deficient they are in Vitamin D. Vitamin D being a hormone, is a Lipophilic (fat based) hormone, goes to the fat first, the more fat the more vitamin D is required. That is why people everywhere need to know what their baseline is. All people have different metabolisms, BMI, and skin damage. Knowing and following your D levels should be top priority. Vitamin D enables the rest of the vitamins and minerals perform their job. This doesn't mean that Vitamin D is the cure-all. It means, you need Vitamin D to be at a therapeutic level in order to strengthen your cells, to enable the rest of the minerals and vitamins to perform their jobs adequately and efficently. A good diet can only be as good as the quality of food you can obtain. With the depletion of the soil, the mansonto gang changing the seed structure in the foods that are mass produced, a person is hardpressed to find good quality "foodstuffs" so taking supplements in my opinion is good on many levels. Again, first find out what your Vitamin D level is, get that baseline then get therapeutic. Keep that part of your follow-up care with your physician when you get your physical.

Being therapuetic with your Vitamin D levels has many implications. So many in fact, you would tear your hair out to learn that this information has been known since 1937!

The fatter you are, the more deficient you are likely to be in Vitamin D. The reason for that is the lipophillic attraction. Vitamin D, is a hormone that is fat bound. If you are not getting enough sunshine (Like 20 minutes of 40 percent of your body exposed to sunlight) not abusing the sun, as sun damage causes way too many ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species) which then creates a whole other problem for your immune system to fight the free radicals. Free Radicals are the byproducts of oxygen metabolism, insult to injury when a person injures their skin from a sunburn, and you not only have radicals, but a whole host of inflammatory factors show up to the scene, and create their own debris in the repair process. The body is bombarded with attacts at every end of the spectrum. More on ROS later, the point of fat on the body, is based on the fact that Vitamin D has to saturate all the fat, by filling all the fat receptor sites, once this is done then Vitamin D from your supplement, or sun exposure (not too much) can then quantify itself and perform the job in the rest of the body cells. Fat Cells take up lots of space.

The multitudes of receptor sites for Vitamin D are enormous! Scientists have uncovered over 2500 receptor sites alone, for Vitamin D. Receptor sites are found at every cellular level. That includes the heart cells, the vessels cells, kidney cells, endothelia cells, the list goes on.

Weight Loss: Be Therapeutic in Your Vitamin D Levels!

Vitamin D can seriously help with weightloss! Besides me being living proof of it, there are enormous studies that prove that Vitamin D has many receptor sites that have been found within our body tissues, organs, muscles, vessels, heart, brain, and our "Fat!" When we are therapeutic in Vitamin D the benefits are enormous on so many levels.

Who wound't want to take Vitamin D for weightloss? Dr. Holick states the "Normal Levels" of Vitamin D are anything above 50ng/ml of blood. If you fall under this level, you are seriously deficient, and should speak with your doctor about replacement and achieving therapeutic ranges. My Level was 44 recently, and I take 10,000 IU everday if not more. I am not happy with this number, just because my daily intake can sometimes exceed that dose. However, being fat, Vitamin D locks itself inside the fat and doesn't allow it to circulate as metabolically active as someone of normal weight. That is why everyone should start by getting a level drawn. It has many implications in our health and longevity when we are deficient!

First, you want to get a 25-hydroxyvitamin D blood level drawn and work with your doctor to replace you, and then follow-up obviously in at least three months thereafter. For those that don't have insurance, or would rather bypass the system: LifeExtension reported by Dr. Holick; that anyone can call 1-800-208-3444 and order their own 25-hydroxyvitamin D blood test for $47.00. They will tell you what lab to go to in your surrounding area and you could, either update you primary M.D. of your level and have him tell you how much to dose with, or find out from "LifeExtension.com" what you should be taking to replace and when to recheck.

The thing about "Fat" is that by taking Vitamin D it goes to the fat first; fat is active in that it isn't just a "blob" it performes tasks too, and the more you have of fat the more receptor sites within the fat cells take up the Vitamin D... and there the "Vitamin D" is locked up in the fat and not available in the body for the other cells to utilize. That is why it is more difficult to increase your levels without proper monitoring.

Fat does utilize Vitamin D! It actually will produce the Hormone Leptin once all the "Fat Receptor Sites" are filled, and then you will have more control over your hunger far better than when you were deficient. Also, Vitamin D helps enable all other hormones, minerals, and vitamins to perform their jobs! This doesn't by any means obliterate the fact that we need a variety of supplements and minerals to maintain health, but without Vitamin D the rest aren't able to perform their job.

Current studies, and there are many revealing over 2500 receptor sites within or bodies, muscles tissue, skin cells, vessel wall cells, brain cells, fat cells, and they are still unveiling more receptor sites for D.

REMEMBER: VITAMIN "D"COMPETES FOR THE SAME RECEPTOR SITE AS VITAMIN "A" YOU WANT TO WATCH THE RATIO AND TIMING OF TAKING THE TWO TOGETHER OR VITAMIN D IS A MOOT POINT!

Vitamin D insufficiency/deficiency has been observed worldwide at all stages of life. It has been characterized as a public health problem, since low concentrations of this vitamin have been linked to the pathogenesis of several chronic diseases. Several studies have suggested that vitamin D is involved in cardiovascular diseases and have provided evidence that it has a role in reducing cardiovascular disease risk. It may be involved in regulation of gene expression through the presence of vitamin D receptors in various cells, regulation of blood pressure (through renin-angiotensin system), and modulation of cell growth and proliferation including vascular smooth muscle cells and cardiomyocytes. Identifying correct mechanisms and relationships between vitamin D and such diseases could be important in relation to patient care and healthcare policies.

Introduction

The main function of vitamin D relates to the development and maintenance of bone tissue. It is responsible for maintaining calcium and phosphorus homeostasis. Vitamin D insufficiency/deficiency has been observed worldwide at all stages of life. It has been characterized as a public health problem, since low concentrations of this vitamin has been linked to the pathogenesis of several chronic diseases with cardiovascular risk factors, such as hypertension, heart failure, atherosclerosis and peripheral arterial disease [1-3]. Following the discovery of the presence of vitamin D receptors (VDR) in many cells, including cardiomyocytes [4], vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) [5] and endothelium [6], several mechanisms have been proposed to explain the relationship between vitamin D and the development of cardiovascular disease. Such mechanisms include involvement of vitamin D in the angiotensin-renin system [7] and proliferation and growth of VSMC [8].

Known Cerebral Palsy

DEFINITIONS

Cerebral Palsy (CP, Big Brain Paralysis) is a condition characterized by poor muscle control, stiffness, disability and other neurological dysfunction.

CP is not a disease and not progressive (getting worse).
In infants and premature babies, part of the brain that controls muscle movement are particularly vulnerable to CP injury occurs in 1-2 from 1000 infants, but 10 times more often found in premature infants and more frequently found in very small infants.

CAUSES
Cerebral Palsy can be caused by a brain injury occurs when the baby is still in the womb, the birth place, newborn and children younger than 5 years. But not most the cause is unknown.

10-15% of cases occur due to birth injury and reduced blood flow to the brain before, during and immediately after birth. Premature infants are particularly vulnerable to CP, probably because the blood vessels to the brain has not developed comprehensively, and easy bleeding or because the oxygen can not flow in sufficient quantities to the brain.

Brain injury may be caused by high levels of bilirubin in the blood (often found in newborns), can cause kernikterus and brain damage.
Severe disease in the first year of baby's life (eg encephalitis, meningitis, sepsis, trauma and severe dehydration)
Head injury due to subdural hematoma
Injury of blood vessels.

SYMPTOMS

Symptoms usually appear before the 2-year-old child and in severe cases, can appear at 3-month-old child.

Symptoms vary, ranging from the irregularities that are not apparent until severe stiffness, which causes changes in the form of arms and legs so the child must use a wheelchair.

CP is divided into 4 groups:

1. Spastic type (50% of all cases of CP), the muscles become stiff and weak.

Rigidity is happening can be:

Kuadriplegia (both arms and both legs)
Diplegia (both legs)
Hemiplegia (arm and leg on one side of the body)

2. Type Deskinetik (Koreoatetoid, 20% of all cases of CP), muscular arms, legs and body spontaneously moves slowly, writhing and uncontrollable, but can also arise rough movements and twitching. Outburst causes worsening situation, the movement would disappear if the child slept

3. Type Ataxic, (10% of all cases of CP), consisting of tremors, unsteady steps with both legs far apart, interference coordination, and abnormal movements.

4. Mixed type (20% of all cases of CP), is a combination of 2 types above, which is often found is a combination of spastic and koreoatetoid type.

Other symptoms can also be found in the CP:

Below normal intelligence
Mental retardation
Seizures / epilepsy (especially in spastic type)
Sucking or eating disorders
Breathing irregular
The development of motor skills disorders (such as reaching for something, sit, roll over, crawl, walk)
Disturbance speaking (disartria)
Disturbance of vision
Hearing loss
Joint contractures
Movement is limited.

Diagnosis

In the examination will be found in delayed development of motor skills.

Infantile reflexes (eg sucking, and surprise) still exists even supposed to have disappeared.

Education and special schools
Anti-seizure drugs
Drugs to relax the muscles (to reduce tremors and rigidity)
Occupational therapy
Orthopedic surgery
Speech therapy to clarify speech and to help children overcome eating problems
Treatment (for severe cases).

If there is no physical disturbance and severe intelligence, many children with CP will grow normally and go to regular school. Another child requires extensive physical therapy, special education and always need help in living their daily activities.

In some cases, to free the joint contractures due to deteriorating muscle rigidity, may need surgery. Surgery is also necessary to install the feeding tubes and to control reflux gastroesofageal.

Prognosis

The prognosis usually depends on the type and severity of CP. More than 90% of children with CP survived to adulthood.

For the past few months, most of the hospitals have been seeing a decline in certain patient populations. I find this to be an ominous sign indicative of the many job losses that have occurred over the past few years. People that could not afford the Cobra, went without insurance for many months and years unless they were able to get another job that supplied them with health and dental insurance.

The absence of insurance for people, leads many to go without learning if they have such underlying disease processes such as:

• Pre-diabetes

• Early stages of high blood pressure

• Untreated depression

• Late stage heart disease

Most people that are pre-diabetic learn of this during a routine blood tests when going for their yearly or periodic visits to their doctors for other ailments. Now, without insurance people avoid seeing the doctor due to the non-coverage, underinsurance, or being uninsured altogether. No job to pay for health care in general.

Early stages of high blood pressure go unnoticed, without seeing your doctor to check your blood pressure. Early stages of high blood pressure, can turn into very high blood pressure over a few days and or months. If you aren't treated for it, you run a very good risk of having your kidney's fail, and then you will be on Dialysis.

Untreated depression, is becoming a really big problem as well as undetected due to people not having insurance to see a doctor on a regular basis, or to follow-up with counseling. There are far more suicides now than ever before, and this is very unfortunate, when intervention could have improved the quality of these peoples’ lives and saved lives too.

Late stage heart disease caused by all the above, lack of insurance, or no insurance, costs out of reach due to pre-existing conditions. Undiagnosed high blood pressure, or pre-diabetic, and diabetic conditions left untreated and progressively worsen set-up an individual for all sorts chronic problems. Kidney damage is often the consequence of untreated heart disease, due to high blood pressure, and diabetes.

Not knowing what the new health care bill will provide for future insurability, it is no doubt an important issue that people have checkups regularly, if even to check your blood pressures at a County Health Clinic, along with a comprehensive metabolic panel (this covers all your electrolytes, kidney function tests, white blood cell counts, other important tests and a blood sugar. An A1C is a very good test to tell if you are pre-diabetic or are in the diabetic range.

Most counties have clinics that serve underinsured and uninsured people, and they will go on a sliding scale for payment. In fact, I recently went to have labs done at my local county health clinic, the labs cost me $12.25. To see the physician the cost for me was $40.00. They will tell you the cost of anything else that they suggest you need before you they provide the procedure. It's a very clean and organized environment. Once I get my insurance up and running, I would still go to this clinic. They take insurance as well.

Don't forgo your health due to a job loss where you lost your health benefits, there are other avenues that can bridge you till you get up and running again.

My concern now continues to be the obvious decline in certain patient populations in the hospitals over the past few months, the concern is that people are put in jeopardy with their health due to the years of job losses and insurance coverage. Controlling disease processes before they become serious, is very important. I sense we will get caught up in a huge influx of patients within the next year, as all the undiagnosed hypertensive, diabetic, heart failure patients surface in the emergency rooms across the country in End Stage Renal Disease. It will be a sad state of affairs.

If you know of someone that has a high risk, or even if they have been uninsured for over a year, to share with them this information. Go to the County Health Clinic nearest you to get a simple blood test and a check up with a physician. You'll be glad you did.

I was so thrilled to read this article. I've know people in my life that have suffered from Multiple Sclerosis. This Doctor, did a lot of investigative work, and his hypothesis paid off. However, in the world of medicine there is always speculation and derisive behavior from medical peers. It will take more clinical evidence to set him apart from the critics at large. I say, anything that could possibly improve a patient's quality of life, or have the potential to improve the quality of life, allow independence and diminish suffering, should be an open door policy!

Syphilis is a common and well known sexually transmitted disease (STD). Sexual intercourse is one of the most common ways to contract it. Syphilis dates a long way back.

Known to many as "Syphilis - The Great Imitator", Syphilis has a multitude of presentations which makes it difficult to diagnose. Biotechnology is not a new advancement in the area of science. It actually has been utilized for years, but was not significantly described as biotechnology. In its simple form, biotechnology means utilizing living organisms or their products to revise or change human health or the environment, or to run a process. Biotechnology itself is the combination of biology and other sciences to create new, innovative products in the agricultural sector, industrial sector and environmental industries. The products include medicines, vaccines, growth hormones for plants and food additives.

There are nine major areas of this technology and its applications in the field of biotechnology. These nine major areas are bioprocessing technology, monoclonal antibodies, cell culture, recombinant DNA technology, cloning, protein engineering, biosensors, nanobiotechnology and microarrays.

Bioprocessing technology refers to use of living cells to produce preferred products. This method has been utilized for thousands of years without knowing the actual scientific implications of it, such as in beer brewing, winemaking and even for making bread and pickles! Microorganisms were first discovered in the mid-1800s, and people came to realize that their biochemical machinery was the substance for these useful products. From teenagers to adults, we all get to deal with zits and pimples at some time in our lives - but we can do something about it even before the acne starts to develop. The first defense is recognizing that you have acne, and not picking the blemishes. Picking causes scarring, and will last your entire life. So, no picking.

One of the acne skin care tips that you can keep in mind is to regularly clean your skin with mild cleansers. Make sure that you are cleaning your skin, especially your face, with mild soap or cleansers to avoid irritating it. No scrubbing, no grainy scrubs just gentle cleansers and a soft wash cloth or just use clean hands and warm water with a gentle cleanser. Gentle is key. The cause of Acne is not from dirt, per se, but from overproduction of oil gland secretion due to hormone fluctuations; hence, puberty is when you start to get the pimples.

To add insult to injury, the skins cells turn over rapidly as you are growing, and mix with the oil secreting from the oil glands, then all the debris buildup causes the blockage. The tips and tricks are not about diet, but rather about keeping the blockage from occurring, or unblocking the blockage. A debate that is going on at "Vaccine Knowledge Network." I'm the odd man out! Surprising!

Here is my response to the matters that be in vaccine development, medical science, and the people that operate within these confines!

I agree that "Firstly, science should be conducted with properly recognized, scrutinized and peer reviewed diligence." Unfortunately, people in high places and with ulterior motives, especially, to move a product for the sake of riches is an ethically disjointed venture to say the least.

I also agree with what you say here "Glib comments made in the press and on the blogosphere are made with little effort or expense but with the great potential to cause confusion and harm to the uninformed." This could be true if it weren't for so many people that have had to suffer from the misguided truths and dislocated ethics. I am at the frontlines, witnessing modern medicine's attempts to "improve" the health of so many. I question, and it's a really HUGE question, why are so many people that I have witnessed in all these many years are so utterly sick? I dove in to research the matter, so "glib" I am not. Serious, I am. I am sorry if this wasn't the proper place to vent my concerns, and learn from the perspective of this industry, but I felt it was the most important place to learn more from a different perspective, and educate. That you, John Beadles so graciously have provided. However, to teach from an enlightened perspective, should not be so fused with anger. All men and women of science and medicine, should remain with open minds. Remember "First, Do No Harm!"

Also, these authors of books on the matter have done years of research! Bill Hamilton author of: "The River: A Journey to the Source of HIV and AIDS," Vaccine A: The Covert Government Experiment That's Killing Our Soldiers--And Why GI's Are Only The First Victims by Gary Matsumoto, "What The Pharmaceutical Companies Don't Want You To Know About VACCINES..."by: Dr. Todd M. Elsner. They can't all be wrong!!!

I would think anyone who cares enough to do the right thing, wouldn't stop at investigating the safety and efficacy of certain medicine and modalities. Look at the evidence, not at the dollars rolling in. Talk to parents that have full grown boys with autism what life is like???? Not a pretty picture. Ask someone with chronic disease, or better yet ask a patient with Lupus, or other autoimmune diseases, and ask them if they would like more research done, and facts not hidden and thrown away, and re-written to appease the pocket books of so many.

Don't blur the lines, of medical advances with medical fallacy. There are without a doubt many great advances, some very experimental, some with great potential, and some that have been manufactured to fit just right, because it can generate so much money.

I bet you and many others, have never been at the bedside of a patient with tubes coming out of every orifice. I'm just guessing, because only then, would you possibly be more open about the truth. However, like most things in life that have gone wrong, people are quite content as long as they can sit back and open a beer, put their feet up at the end of the day, and drown out their worries with a big flat screen TV. with surround sound. It might not be you personally, but it is many. I can guarantee that won't solve any problems.

As the season moves forward, and the first batch of illnesses past us; I thought it appropriate to reiterate a earlier thread on "What's In Your Nose: The Mutant Down Under," discussing how sinus infections originate, and what precipitates that infectious process.

Colds, and Flus are initiated by viruses, and because of this, once we come in contact with a virus a whole cascade of events begins! Starting with, the inflammation. Inflammation of the sinus cavities causes the swelling and an increase in mucous production. If you are like me, and have a deviated septum, or physiologically, designed for poor drainage, then the mucous stays in the sinus cavities where they start to breed bacteria. Once the breeding begins, changes take place in the mucous from the the sinuses, in the form of colors. What the colors can mean:

Clear: Normal state of health
Pale Yellow: Infectious process beginning, an indication that the immune system is kicking in to fight off this infection.
Green: Green mucus is often thick and causes congestion and pressure, and is a sign that an infection is present. This can cause more discomfort as thick mucus is often the primary cause of sinus headaches.
Brown or Rust Colored: This is a sign that the sinuses are engorged and blood mingles with the mucous. Smokers will complain of more brown and rust colored findings, because smoking causes more engorgement due to increased irritation of the sinus linings.

Here is a video on how to use the Neti Pot. I use a squeeze bottle, and have been using it with saline packets and warm tap water for over three years. It's been the best thing an Ears, Nose, and Throat Surgeon suggested to me that many years ago. In essence, I will show results of ongoing research, in efforts of controlling diabetes, and discuss them in detail.

Type I Diabetes

Usually, occurs in young people, and as late as early adulthood. It is considered to be an autoimmune malfunction, and sometimes of a genetic origin. It is when the pancreas no longer has functional Islet cells, and therefore, does not secrete the hormone insulin. This is dangerous, and can only be treated with administration of injectable insulin. Vigilant monitoring of blood sugar levels and administration of the insulin in a timely fashion, are paramount.

There are many famous people who have that have Type I diabetes. Diabetes does not discriminate. The total effect of the disease process occurs behind the scenes, within the body's organs and blood vessels, if the blood sugar is not well managed, it can manifest as:

• Peripheral artery disease

• Heart disease

• Foot ulcers/gangrene

• Blindness

• Kidney Failure

• Heart Disease

It was stated in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (2006)
"...while insulin keeps a diabetic alive, it does not cure the disease, nor does it prevent its eventual and devastating effects, including kidney failure, blindness, nerve damage, amputations, heart attack, and stroke."

Currently, a procedure noted in the June 2000 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine, "... researchers at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, have continued to use and refine a procedure called the Edmonton protocol to transplant pancreatic islets (beta cells) into selected patients with type 1 diabetes that is difficult to control. The 5 year follow up study proved that a small percentage had normal blood sugar control, and the rest had a decreased need in supplemental insulin, better control overall compared to not receiving the pancreatic islets."

With advancing technology, and stem cell research advancing on the horizon, we are on the cutting edge of refining procedures that follow this line of thought; replacing missing and dysfunctional islet cells with stem cells, or at least making islet cells from stem cells and then transplanting these into the diabetic.

The downside to any transplant is the need to take immunosuppressive drugs for the rest of the person's life, or your transplanted cells will be rejected. You will need to take the immunosuppressive drugs to prevent your immune system from attacking the transplanted cells for the life of the transplant.

There is host of problems that can evolve from long term use of immunosuppressive drugs. Since the immune system recognizes viruses, bacteria, tissue, and foreign invaders of the body, the drugs decrease the immune systems function, so that the transplanted cells are not rejected. Therefore, reducing your defenses of any foreign invader, and or mutations in cell replications that are normally taken care of by a fully functioning immune system. Mutations will then be a concern, and any infectious process too. An increase in cancers, and infections are possible, and you should be monitored for these if you are on long term immunosuppressive drugs.

Long-term use of these drugs can cause cancers, and other diseases related to immune suppression. Following up with all your doctor visits, and having screening tests done as ordered by your primary physician, should alert your provider to any abnormal growths or disease processes that may be occurring, early enough to treat it. As time goes on, and technology advances further, there will be the possibility of making the transplantable cells from your own matching stem cells, with a combination method done in the laboratory, and the possibility of not requiring immunosuppressive drugs.

As stated in the JDRF:
"...Researchers are investigating alternative methods for producing ESCs (Embryonic stem cells). One technique, somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT), is sometimes called therapeutic cloning. Scientists remove the nucleus of an unfertilized egg and replace it with the nucleus of an adult cell. After the egg is stimulated to divide, researchers can derive from it new embryonic stem cell lines that are genetically identical to the patient. Though there has been success in using this process with animal cells, SCNT has not yet produced human ESCs."

Type II Diabetes

Is generally known as Adult onset diabetes. Occurring as we get older, and mostly developing as a side effect of a sedentary lifestyle, mixed with obesity, and or a family history of diabetes. It is the most common form of insulin deficiency. Either the body doesn't make enough of the hormone insulin, or the body doesn't utilize the insulin correctly even if it does produce some of the hormone. Therefore, your body then develops very high blood sugars, and your cells become malnourished.

Symptoms of high blood sugar are:

• Shakiness

• sweaty feeling

• lightheadedness

• heart palpitations

• symptoms of a panic attack

These are the same symptoms as a Type I Diabetic would have when they are not in good control of their diabetes. Long-term, both Type I and Type II will develop heart disease, nerve destruction (peripheral neuropathy), blurry vision, possible blindness, kidney disease (due to the vascular consequences) and hypertension (for the same reasons), the possible need for amputation of the lower limbs, from poor blood circulation may occur if diabetes in both cases is poorly controlled

Some people can control their type II diabetes with diet and exercise, and sometimes oral glycemics (medications that make use of the insulin that your body produces or helps to stimulate production of this hormone.) There are a variety of different glycemic medications, such as metformin (glucophage), glyburide, and sometimes injectable insulin is required for type 2 diabetics that are highly resistant. Your doctor may have you take oral glycemics along with several daily injections of insulin. You want to work with your primary care provider to learn what will be best course of action, in your particular case.

Diabetes is individual, as no two people are exactly the same, and therefore, their treatment is not going to be exactly the same. A person with Type I or Type II Diabetes, can and do live very long and productive lives, as long as they keep their blood sugar well controlled, and not subject their organs and blood vessels to large swings of high and low blood sugar levels causing the malnutrition that leads to endothelial damage, arthrosclerosis (plaque buildup on the walls of the arteries).

As you can see, science is making great strides in finding cures, and improving treatments that will improve the health of your body, and make these devastating conditions a thing of the past. Chronic diseases will be ongoing but less of a death sentence that they once were for an individual with Diabetes.

Working with your primary care doctor, and keeping your weight in a reasonable range, and eating a healthy diet, and good exercise plans as you work with you physician to arrange what medications if any, and the type of diet and exercise that is best suited for you. Again, each individual is just that, there is no "one size fits all."

A thought came to me in regards to the flu, diseases, and illnesses of all sorts. I wondered if physicians, scientists, the American Medical Association, and large pharmaceutical companies, and the Government of the United States of America, ever dove into the daunting and ominus task of answering the questions pertaining to all the (viruses) that humans are carrying in their bodies, in their very DNA, and RNA from years of vaccinations, and knowing that when a vaccine is developed, the extraction of the virus and how it brings with it, the viruses that belonged to the growth medium used (chicken viruses, monkey viruses, mouse viruses, and every other growth medium ever used.

It blows my mind to think what our future holds, when millions upon millions of people are injected with all these incredible viruses from so many species! If you have ever seen the movie "The Fly," we are headed in that direction, sharing DNA/RNA cells with animals, over time, can only amount to the worst nightmare man will ever witness.

As incredible as medical science is on many fronts, it is a monumental dislocation of ethics! Humans across the nation, have no idea how the viruses are perpetuated within our cells from these animals; people don't realize that there have been known and still continue to exist, the "non-detectable virus(s)",that are in vaccines, but nobody knows that there in it, because they are latent/dormant (not expressing themselves). These viruses aren't evident or existing in a detectable state when a vaccine is being produced. The virus(s) will evolve years later (Cancer(s),Aids, Ebola). It will take a mighty man of science, or government, but surely one with high ethical standards to stop this "Mad Science!"

"...This pilot study demonstrates weak anti-microbial activity in urine specimens after ingestion of a single dose of commercial cranberry. Anti-microbial activity was noted only against K. pneumoniae 2–6 h after ingestion of the cranberry preparation 900 mg."

Urinary Tract Infection can occur in anyone, including men. Throughout history women and men did not understand how they were contracting the infection in the first place. Women thought that they were washing really well, and they were peeing after sex, in attempts to wash away whatever germ it was that made their problem worse. Then people said it was the thong bikini underwear doing the sawing motion, bringing the E-coli to the front of the meatus (the pee hole in women). Or not wiping front to back after having a bowel movement. Men just didn't have a clue why they would get a UTI. They didn't know that their prostates can enlarge as they age and thereby causing an obstruction, or that kidney stones in both men and women can cause obstruction in the flow of urine, and that can lead to bacteria building up in the bladder causing stagnation of urine. Women, when they have uterine fibroids can sometimes be large enough to cause decreased flow of urine. Therefore, leading to a higher incidence of urinary tract infections.

Essentially, the vagina has its own little ecosystem, containing its own flora (normal bacteria for their environment) to maintain the ecosystem. When there are bacteria entering from other sources, that don't mix well with the normal flora, there is a fight between the bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi, and if a woman was recently on an antibiotic, she will have lost most of her good flora to win the fight. No matter how much yogurt she ate during the course of her antibiotics, nothing replaces the direct application of the cultures. How is yogurt going to get from your mouth to your vagina? I never knew how this occurred, but people were convinced that if they ate enough yogurt, or eat yogurt on a regular basis, that they could stave off yeast infections, and keep themselves healthy. There are actual Probiotic suppositories, that you insert into the vagina, and reap the benefits from them.

RECENT FINDINGS: It appears that there are some remarkable similarities in the bacterial species that inhabit the vagina of women from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Yet, distinct outliers exist in which a small portion of apparently healthy women have extremely complex microbiota, whereas most have a relatively simple microbiota. Bacterial vaginosis is the most common aberrant condition in women, yet its pathogenesis is poorly understood and it is often asymptomatic. Vulvovaginal candidiasis is better known, yet many women self-treat with antifungal when in fact they have bacterial vaginosis."

"Urinary tract infection (UTI) remains extremely common, with no real breakthrough treatment or prevention strategy developed in the past 30 or more years. The ability of lactobacilli probiotic interventions to prevent, treat and improve the cure of these infections has long been considered and is now supported by some clinical evidence.

SUMMARY: The mechanisms whereby certain probiotic lactobacilli improve urogenital health include immune modulation, pathogen displacement and creation of a niche less conducive to proliferation of pathogens and their virulence factors. Probiotics offer a potential new means to prevent urogenital infections and help maintain a healthy vaginal ecosystem."

JAMA Extract "Whirlpool Contamination"

"Three previously healthy outpatients had urinary tract infection caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Investigation disclosed that all three patients had been exposed to whirlpool baths within 48 hours before the onset of symptoms. Pseudomonas aeruginosa was isolated from the whirlpool bath associated with each case. Whirlpool baths and spas are commonly contaminated with Pseudomonas and have in the past been associated with rash illness and folliculitis. In addition to these skin infections, our results indicate that whirlpool bath or spa exposure may be an emerging risk factor associated with Pseudomonas urinary tract infections among outpatients." (JAMA 1983;250:2025-2026)

There are many reasons that a person may acquire an Urinary Tract infection, and with women having the shorter urethra, and improper wiping, and being anatomically challenged can make it riskier. As I mentioned earlier, when women develop fibroid tumors, if they are large enough, they can stop the flow of urine, or diminsh the flow leaving some urine to sit and stagnate in the bladder; thus, causing a UTI. Like men and prostate enlargement or kideny stones, anyting that stops or slows the flow can cause UTI's.

There are cases that have shown that women who have intercourse with condom use, if it is coated with the Nonoxynol -9; that includes the diaphragm-spermicide/condom spermicide use has been proven to alter normal flora; therefore, creating an environment for bacteria to reside. There are high risk groups such as diabetics, because of the high sugar content spilling over into the bladder, as happens in diabetics, and sugar is a great growth medium for bacteria to grow.

Practicing good hygiene, avoiding irritating substances, (such as Nonoxynol-9.) Make sure you are drinking cranberry juice on a regular basis or finding the tablet forms that your doctor or nutritionist would recommend; especially, if you are a high risk individual. It is a good idea to have your doctor recommend brands that are more effective, or more potent. Practicing kegal exercises for women, keeps the muscles tone, so that complete emptying of the bladder occurs. Probiotic Vaginal Suppository use, for anyone at high risk, and that have recurrent urinary tract infections. Routine physical exams will catch enlarged prostates earlier rather than later, and Diabetics, learning to control their blood sugar will prevent overspilling of sugar into the bladder. Women, routine vaginal exams to rule out bacterial infections, versus a yeast infection.

Most importantly, if a bladder infection is left untreated there can be serious consequences, life threateing consequences. Or even kidney function loss. You never want to reach either of these stages.

It occurred to me today, as I tried to change the background on my "Twitter Page," for Halloween. I had to put in my username, and apparently, it isn't the same thing that I use to sign in to the actual "Twitter Page"...so, I'm trying to recall the password that goes with the username, which I haven't used since I first made it up. So, I pick up the book I keep all my passwords in (I know, it's a big no no) and look page after page after page. I realized that I haven't required looking in the book of passwords lately. Because I have retained them in my "Brain!" except the Twitter one.

Your Brain On Knowledge

The part of the brain that retains new and old information is the "Hippocampus!" I think it will be amazing to see the autopsies of brains in the next 20 years to see what areas have grown, and expanded. I don't know that we will need new skulls, but the thought is one that I am sure researches and scientists may want to examine.

Will our advancing technology stave off Alzheimers Disease? I think because we use our brains far more than ever before in history, and for longer periods of time. Making new connections between the cells in our brains and creating these new linkages, within the cells. We are learning DynaMo's! That we may very well be able to stave off Alzheimers.

If you think about the past, and how people lived their lives. Women, tended to the chores in the home, and watched mind numbing soap operas day in and day out. They cooked the same meals week to week for their families, the husbands went to the same job, and performed the same tasks day in and day out. When retirement came, they tended not to do much in the way of thinking and using their minds. Even in our parents parents age. There is nowhere in history, where you will find so many people that have used their brains like the people of the 21st Century! It's fascinating, amazing, and mind boggling!

What it is "Staphylococcus Aureus:"

Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcal Disease are gram positive sphere shaped bacteria. Bacteriological culture of the nose and skin of normal humans is positive for staphylococci. An infectious process is when a disruption occurs that affects the normal host defenses inside the sinuses; those defenses may allow bacteria, which are normally present in the nasal passages, to enter any of the sinuses. Once there, the bacteria may stick to the cells lining these cavities and cause a sinus infection. The sinuses are covered in a mucus layer and a host of ciliary hairs that helps to trap and remove pathogens before they become a serious problem.

The obstruction disrupts the process that removes bacteria normally present in the nasal passages, and the bacteria begin to multiply and invade the lining of the sinus. This causes sinus infection symptoms. Allergens and pollutants produce a similar effect. Bacteria that normally cause acute sinusitis are Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and Moraxella catarrhalis. These microorganisms, along with Staphylococcus aureus and anaerobes (bacteria that live without oxygen), are involved in chronic sinusitis."

What you want to aim for if you have been diagnosed with a Sinus infection is to reduce inflammation; this is a critical step for improving your symptoms, and reducing your risks of further inflammation, damage to your sinus cavities, and secondary infectious processes. Your Eustachian tubes can be involved in the inflammatory process as well, by sending the infectious material into the Eustachian tubes when blowing your nose, hard enough and too frequently, can cause this to happen. Then you have to worry about ear infections, and that is no fun; it opens a whole other "can of worms."

Keep it moving:

Promoting drainage is the main event you want to encourage. They mention different treatments you can do at home to help the drainage. I myself went to an ENT surgeon a few years ago, because I was having chronic sinus infections that kept turning into pneumonia. The Surgeon took a lighted scope and entered through one of my nostrils and examined the entire area. Then after a few minutes of probing around the sinus cavities, he pulled it out and said he would be right back, and he left the room. When he returned, he had a box in his hands. I use it twice a day when I'm feeling stuffy, and then up to three times per day when I'm sick with a cold or sinus infection. It has made a huge difference in my life. For one, I don't suffer with Sinus infections like I did before using the irrigation kit, and therefore, I do not suffer from having pneumonia and prolonged illness related to sinus infections, no using antibiotics or at least thus far. I did have an ear infection, which was caused by chronic swimmers ear. Some patients will be told to irrigate with an antibiotic that the physician will prescribe if you have an active sinus infection and you are a person that gets them chronically, and have a history of bacterial resistance.

As quoted in Ambulatory Healthcare Pathways for Ear, Nose, and Throat Disorders, from UCSD Medical Center (p3):

"...Antihistamines concentrate and increase the viscosity of nasal mucus and impair mucociliary clearance. They are therefore counterproductive."

That is why it behooves you to discuss a plan of care with your healthcare provider, because not all sinus infections are going to be treated the same. Also, in severe cases a CT scan will be ordered to rule out sinus infection, as there are many other causes with the same symptomology. Your doctor will want to have conclusive results. This way he will know how serious the invasion is and what treatment options, from the least invasive to the most invasive, and that can mean emergent surgery.

How to distinguish between Allergy and Infection:

If it's an allergy, a reaction to an allergen these are the symptoms that include: Itchy water eyes, or just feeling itchy, and sneezing
If you have an infection, your symtoms are going to be, nasal blockage,
nasal congestion, post nasal drip, coughing, facial pain, fever, bodyaches

Complications:

The infection, if left untreated or if it is so resistant to antibiotic treatment, it can then turn into a medical emergency. The bacteria can travel into the your brain via penetration of the sinus wall, within the orbit, and then into the central nervous system; this is when you hear about bacterial meningitis, caused by direct penetration of the sinus wall in sphenoid sinusitis. Meningitis is a bacterial infection of the meninges in the brain, they are caused by a variety of bugs, but this one that we are discussing today is a major player.

This is why it is so important to see your healthcare provider when you have a sinus infection, and when it becomes a chronic sinus infection. There is a multitude of modalities that are being employed to keep you from making that 911 call.

As you can see from this article, there are many problems that can evolve from a sinus infection. Not all sinus infections are the same, but they can lead to serious complications and call for emergency treatment. There are certainly enough case studies to prove that there is a need for improved treatments to prevent antibiotic resistance, and modalities that can be employed now, to help prevent the recurrence. "When Disease Strikes"

One minute you are feeling fine, and the next you are down for the count. Sound familiar? Especially, with the fall and winter season upon us, the time when people come down with sore throats, body aches, sniffles, stuffy head, and general "Uck!"

Your body was designed to defend its turf. Remember "Survival of the fittest?" You are the Warrior, and will fight off any invasions. If you don't, you won't survive, or you won't be as strong as you were before the infectious disease took over.

Here I will discuss "When Disease Strikes."  I'll begin with Viruses as my introduction to the world of infectious diseases; viruses are very small, microscopic particles. As quoted in Plague and Pestilence: A History of Infectious Disease written by Linda Jacobs Altman (1998):
"...A Russian scientist Dmitri Ivanovski had discovered the first filterable virus in 1882 while studying a disease of tobacco plants. The cause of the tobacco disease was a pathogen so small that it could pass through bacteria-trapping filters and still infect healthy plants. Five years later, German scientist Friedrich Loffler found that another filter-passing germ caused foot-and-mouth disease in cattle." They are very small particles, and you do not see them with the naked eye.

Since viruses are not technically alive, they are considered inert substances; surviving organisms in dormant states till they find a host that has cellular material that they can latch onto. Viral strains can be found on surfaces or objects in dormant states, but once the air or surfaces are disturbed, they can land on us, we can breathe them in, we can touch them, and we can ingest these particles. Remember the tobacco plant in 1882 a virus was found on the plant, and infected healthy plants. Viruses, can mutate (change their DNA or RNA structure), that is why Influenza strains provide Scientists with the daunting task of beating the viral strain at it's own game of transfiguration; by putting multiple viral strains in a seasonal injection, allows, the body to make enough antibodies so that our immune system won't fall prey to a full-blown attack. By covering us with several strains in one shot, possibly some parts of the sequencing of the stains will have stimulated our bodies own immune system into making those antibodies against these particular strains, or other strains that carry some of that genetic coding.

Viruses have unique abilities to copy and spread their genomes. All living organisms, by virtue of possessing DNA and RNA molecules, such that are found in animals, humans, birds, insects, and plants; are the living breathing life carrying forces that help to perpetuate diseases, and allow them to alter their protein coating within their hosts environment.

I believe, that all DNA and RNA carriers, harbor viral strains within our vast cellular material that we posses, and when the right environment is present, it stimulates these viruses into action, and then they replicate.  For those that have herpes (cold sores), the virus that came from "chicken pox" (varricela) lays dormant in our nerve cells, and when the right conditions are met within the environment, the virus is stimulated to replicate itself. The immune system kicks into high gear, and within three weeks, the virus returns to its dormant state. Sometimes, the virus can seem more virulent than at other times, this is equated with how our immune system is functioning at the time of the recurrence. If our immune system was slow to recognize the attack, then more of the virus will have replicated itself.

The dormancy of the "herpes" virus manifests as "shingles" when the right conditions are met. Older people that have had chicken pox are usually susceptible to this occurrence. Due to the aging process, the immune system function isn't the same as it used to be, or the viral strains changed their sequencing and it is demonstrated in the appearance of the shingles rash. The vaccine for "shingles" is something that you would discuss with your healthcare provider, but realize that once you have had shingles, that a vaccine for it will be a moot point.

Later I will discuss some of the consequences of  attacks on our immune system from these viruses and how to be prepared for those changes. After thinking about this some, and just having done a whole bunch of research today in the library on the Polio Vaccines, and the development of the vaccines with monkey kidney cells. It was an "Aha!" moment, when I learned that the reason that scientist don't use human tissue as a growth medium; is because, they were/and are afraid of passing on cancer cells and other debris that could be passed on from using human tissue to grow and harvest viruses for use in vaccines.

Therefore, when I read about this study, it occurred to me, that this premise is present in this modality of treating influenza. If you are using the antibodies of people that have a mild case of the disease, and you are going to make vaccines with this plasma? Then aren't you facing the same dilemma?

I was thinking about the influenza disease today, as I prepare to gather information to roll into my website pages. Being a Dialysis Nurse, and an Apheresis Nurse, I ponder the thought, of why medical science doesn't use Therapeutic Apheresis in the most critically ill sufferring from protein bound infectious disease states. It would remove some, not all, the affected proteins in the blood that carry the viral stain, and replace with untainted proteins. Giving the body a fighting chance, in the presence of a major infection. Not all people will suffer from the flu the same way, but those that are stricken, with the most virulent form of the disease.

I hope that medical science makes strides in providing Therapeutic Apheresis as a modality in alleviating the sufferring. At least starting clinical trials based on this therapy. Not just for the flu, but for other infectious states that are protein bound diseases. The possibility, that healing could occur, more readily, would be fantastic. Science is on the cutting edge, and has been for a long time. I'm sure that there are trials going on for this, and I just haven't found them. Or at least the way I'm thinking about it.

I just read some places are starting to do some clinical trials, testing, and researching on this modality of treatment for the flu. I read it wrong...it sounds like they are going to provide the Therapeutic Apheresis Modality to collect the plasma proteins that have the antibodies in the plasma, and use it to provide improved treatments in the long run, to help people who are affected by the flu, a better chance.

However, I still feel that the original thought would or could provide an effective avenue to assist a person that is severly ill with the flu, or any other protein bound disease. One of the reasons that it may not be used, is the cost. The plasma is donated to the blood banks, as it is, they say they have a good amount due to the regular donars, but, the cost of albumin is becoming strained. Money and availability of these replacement fluids could be what is preventing the medical establishment from moving forward with Clinical Trials on that line of thought.

Weighing the Risks! That is exactly what they are talking about, "Risks!" As I see it, you risk on a multitude of levels: First being, when you already may have received the first vaccine, for the seasonal flu, then the health officials think it is prudent to inoculate you again! Only this time, with a very unpredictable and fraught with controversy, "H1N1 Vaccine!" Secondly, the reaction that your body is going through with the first Vaccine, with all the detergents, excellerants, and sterilants, viral debris from the growth medium (animal cellular debris) that they could not get rid of completely or kill completely. I like to refer to this as "The Detection of Non-Detectable Viruses," Quoted: by A Long time Virologist/Vaccinologist, Dr. Maurice Hillemen. Meaning that they don't know that a viral strain is in the mix, because the scientists didn't detect it, at the time of evaluation. Yes, it is scary to imagine a virus(s) that remains dormant and undetectable in a batch of vaccine potions, yet this is the 2nd greatest risk that we face, in the face of any vaccine program...but an ever riskier "Risk" in the face of a "Mass Campaign." Thirdly, you risk the evolutionary cancers, alzheimers, dementias, autisms, autoimmune diseases, ticks, and unpleasant paralysis, or death from having your body injected with "Non-detectable viruses (the very undetectable), and accelerants that could overstimulate your immune system.

This is such a controversial subject, and most people know not where to turn for their answers. It is a perplexing situation, and one that you need to speak with your primary physican about, based on the information that you have read,. I continue to support Vaccinations as a continued avenue of growth and exploration, with improvement in development, to modulate and evolve impeccable standards of care in the development of vaccines along the continuum; aiming for pure states that lead to our trusting in the pharmaceutical companies, and the government agencies, as the design and the intent originally, was to erradicate infectious diseases.

Again, seeking advisement from your M.D., and asking questions. Realizing that everyone takes a risk whether they get the vaccine/vaccines, or not. Although, it is a personal decision, and one that the government has no business being a part of, I continue to believe that there is much more that needs to be uncovered.

My problem, is the information that I have uncovered leads me to question the efficacy of certain vaccines. Till we have transparency, it is a "crap shoot." Certain agents that are put into these vaccines and I worry about, "Squalene" is an oil based product that is like ear wax. It is used in vaccines, to stimulate the immune system to respond to the deadend virus, and along with stimulating the immune system, scientists do not know how to gauge a safe dose of this stimulant for all humans??? You can't. Plus, this particular agent is not FDA approved, and it is questionable whether they are putting it into the vaccines of the H1N1, because they used such a short amount of time to harvest the viral strains, they need to deaden the virus with more formaldehyde to deaden the viruses, or kill them a bit with the toxic substance(s) completely then they need something that will shake up the immune system! Squalene is a super charger (not FDA approved), all vaccines that put in accellerants into vaccines, run the risk of overstimulating the immune system, and in affect causing autoimmune issues, and god knows what else. It is a sad state of affairs, when people are no longer able to trust the pharmaceutical companies, or the World Health Organization, National Institutes of Health, and even our Government. They plot and plan behind the scenes, and we are the "Beta Testers,"

If Squalene isn't put in the vaccines, then they will find another acclerrant, and again, anything that super chargers the immune system is not always prudent.

I prefer being mandated to wear a mask at work. I think everyone should. The irony is, and correct me if you think I'm wrong. Didn't the medical establishment say, "that if you get sick after getting the shot, that it was because you caught the flu bug before you got the shot!" Well then, I think EVERYONE should be mandated to wear the mask while they are in any evironment that there are a lot of people; especially, where there are lots of sick people!!! However, the way I read this mandate, is to make an example of a person refusing the vaccine~going against the grain, as it were. They want you to get the vaccine(s) that they are shoving down our throats this year! Because, they are running this "HUGE CAMPAIGN," just like they did in 1976!

It will spread foresure, once everyone is injected with the swine flu virus, and then the regular seasonal virus. Do yourself and your family a favor, and wear a mask when in public, and wash your hands frequently! Don't take kids to the hospital to visit people that are patients there.

To make a vaccine, you need a live cell or host. Tell me “You Don’t Get Sick From the Vaccine!” The Medical establishment, the one we have all grown to trust and put our faith in, tells us this. What is the biggest hurdle faced in rapid vaccine production?

This is a question that was posed by: Jennifer Pereira, Associate Online Producer at Institute for International Research at Linkedin in the "Vaccines Development Forum." The following is my response to the question presented above:

"Hurdles and Rapid," are scary connotations for something that is being produced and injected into living human beings! First the government and pharmaceutical companies need to slow down. Think if it is best for the host to come down with the influenza virus, and go through the illness, versus getting inocculated by a speeded production of accelerant treated live attenuated, or a weakend/ or deadend virus? To incoroporate it into a viable option (vaccine) there is not enough time to produce a well designed product, when time is of the essence. Testing in humans that are desperate for money due to living conditions that don't afford them the luxury to choose, promises to irradicate a lowly population, or keep them weighing down our health care system when they fall apart from the vaccine being tested on them.

Unfortunately, with government and National Institutes of health continually hiding really serious information from the public about the cosequences of these fast tracked vaccine campaigns; we will not be safe from a vaccination program until the drama and the junk is removed from the development of these vaccines. Appropriately grown in the proper mediums for human consumption or alternative methods that are evolving in technology may be a better alternative, and remove the risk of sharing animal DNA.

For all intensive purposes, anytime you grow a live virus in a live animal that is being used as "the medium" to grow the virus; then you remove it and try as you may to get rid of the genetic material, bacteria, viruses normal for the species of that medium, and the other stuff from the animal, for the making of this one viral strain, and put into a human vaccination program, seems rather reckless at best. What I have learned about vaccine production: They incubate viruses and bacteria within the cells of live animals (African Green Monkeys, chicken embryos, mice brains, and more.) In the early 1900's Mary Mallon, was an Irish lady that came from harsh existence, she arrived in america all on her own in the late 1800's/early 1900's. She found jobs as a cook for the wealthy, and moved to different homes during the time she spent in New York's lower eastside. She worked for the wealthy in Mamaroneck, Manhattan, and Long Island, New York.

The conditions in those days were 'slum like." New York City, was at the time considered "The Most Crowded City in the World." Transportation was by horse, and if you can imagine, a city with no fresh water, very poor sanitation, and overpopulation~the stench, must have been on the scale of extreme. Horses crowded the streets and so did their manure. A horse can produce 20 to 30 pounds of manure a day. Multiply that times a couple thousand horses that traveled the streets in the 1800s and early 1900's, and multiply that by 365 days per year, for a few years, that's a lot of poop.

hen some people came down with Typhoid Fever, it was perplexing and brought attention to some bacteriologists in the day. Of course, thinking that it had something to do with the sanition issues, they were not able to find the source until one day a fella by the name of George Sober, sunk his teeth into the problem and would not let go until he found out why some people would come down with this disease. He went to the home of the most recent afflicted household. Interviewed everyone, and did his process of elimination, and was stumped. He questioned the family, if there had been anyone else that he was missing that summer that the infection was present. Thefamily mentioned that there had been a cook, named Mary Mallon.

He then sought her out. When he found her, he asked to have samples of her urine and feces, she adamantly refused! I can understand her anger, in those days a position as a cook was a good gig to get, and made better money than most other household staff. Being accused of possibly infecting families that she worked for, was cause for becoming quite defensive. He attempted on other occassions, but she chased him off with threatening language, until one day...The Sanitation epartment /Department of Health came to the City Slums and cleaned up. The New Department of Public Health lived by the motto "Cleanliness was next to Godliness" The team of Public Health officials always wore white. The streets were cleaned of horse manure, and the city was under new rules. People with infectious diseases were hauled off to "North Brother Island" a.k.a "Plague Island" until they were no longer infected with whatever diseasae that brought them there.

Mary had been tested, and was postive for the bacterium. They sent her to the Island, where she remained for a couple of years, until a new Health Minister heard her case, and felt sorry for her, and agreed that she didn't need to be on that Island as long as she never worked as a cook again. Mary didn't understand infectious disease, and how she may have infected the families that she worked for. She was released, and was suppose to check in with the Public Health Department so that they could keep tabs on her. The Department of Public Health eventually, lost her whereabouts. Until a hospital in New York had doctors, nurses, and patients that were coming down with the typhoid fever. The Department of Health recruited the biologist George Sober to investigate how these cases evolved. That is when he learned that Mary was there! That was it for Mary and her freedom. They put her back on North Brother Island, where she remained for the rest of her days.

History of North Brother Island:

North Brother Island, a 13 acre piece of history laying just southwest of Hunts Point in the East River, it is a
remnant of a long-forgotten time in New York. It is now a Bird Sanctuary. The clocks on North Brother stopped around 1962 when the city pulled the plug on Riverside Hospital, the main attraction on the island and a storied institution that opened in 1886; it was a place to quarantine New Yorkers who suffered from potentially deadly and easily communicable disease such as typhus, smallpox, and tuberculosis. To keep them isolated from the rest of the population. Years later it housed drug addicts until the 1960s. The island gained notoriety in the early 1900's as the involuntary home of " Typhoid" Mary Mallon, a carrier of typhus who was allegedly responsible for 3 deaths and 47 illnesses from 1907-1915.

~The Fly~ The Movie, is a great example of what I think of the Worlds Vaccination Programs, now that I have learned the truth of how they are made, where they incubate, and what ingredients are used to make them powerful. Until vaccines are made in a pure state, and not in an animal, and not with toxic drugs and chemicals; there will never be a safe vaccine.

The actor, Jeff Goldblum depicts an incredible premise in this science fiction movie. This is a great illustration of of how Vaccines work within our bodies(that nobody ever told us.) In the movie, Jeff portrays a mad scientist. He has invented teleportation. However, things go wrong, and when he gets into the pod, a fly enters the chamber with him. After the teleportation is complete, Jeff Goldblum/Brundle a.k.a the mad scientist, starts to notice changes in his physiology. There was a sharing of DNA within the Teleportation. It's a good movie, and very creepy. Science Fiction and real life seem to be crossing lines...concepts of imagination are evolving into reality more than we think.

This time, the government has already taken steps "Granting Their Immunity." Vaccine makers and federal officials will be immune from lawsuits that result from any new swine flu vaccine.

" ... A writer by the Edward Hooper argues that the contamination of polio vaccines used druing the late 1950's in Sub-Saharan Africa is the source of the AIDS pandemic. Viruses need to grow in host cells. So to generate polioviruses in suffiient abundance for use in polio vaccines, virologists grew the viruses in cells taken from other primates, such as green monkeys. The cells and virsuses were grown together in flasks containing media suitable for cell growth. After the viruses had replicated to high densities, they were separated from the monkey cells, media, and cellular debris left in the media by the viral feast. The viruses were then used in the next phase of a vaccine preparation, and everything else was discarded. Ideally on the poliovirus would be isolated during this step, but the laboratory procedures that separate polioviruses at this stage often fail to exclude other viruses that might have been living in the cells that were taken from the monkeys and that reproduced in the cell culture right along with the poliovirus. Without adequate safeguards, these viruses could inadvertently be harvested with the polioviruses and included in the vaccine as contaminants. Just this kind of contamination of polio vaccines occurred during the 1950's and early 1960's.

A particularly worrisome contaminant, a virus called SV40 (for simian virus number 40), was inoculated into children along with the killed polio vaccine virus. There is so much talk about the H1N1 Influenza virus these days. The government is rushing the pharmaceutical companies to produce a vaccine/vaccines to protect us from this dreaded viral infection. The vaccine being developed and tested by some brave individuals, is a three part injection. That's right three shots.

I feel that this is a reckless diregard for the people. Especially, the people that have no health insurance. Three chances to have a reaction to the vaccine. No health insurance and no job to support the cost of hospitalization when someone does have a reaction to the vaccine. The government wants everyone to have the vaccine, and yet do not take into account the lethal complications of such actions.
